Times of the Gentiles vs. the Fullness of the Gentiles

Daniel 9 24a

What is the difference between the Times of the Gentiles and the Fullness of the Gentiles? Times is plural because there are four Gentile kingdoms that rise up.

Fulness in Romans 11 (of Gentiles) is the same root word as to be filled in Ephesians 5:18 which is the command to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. During the “Fulness of Time” the Gentiles become the ones to control in the world.

Under the old and the new covenants becoming a believer by either Jew or Gentile; faith is the requirement. That has never changed. Romans 3:1-2 informs us that there are many advantages of coming to faith from being a Jew. They grew up learning the traditions which all point to their Messiah who is Jesus. There are also hindrances of coming to that name for a Jew.

Until a Jew or a Gentile learns of their need and receives the one that the Bible describes as their saviour they will be separated from fellowship with God.

God’s Time Limit

Dan 9 24

God has set time limits. Over 2,500 years ago the Lord sent Gabriel to tell Daniel about one of God’s deadlines.

The time limit was understood to be weeks of years or 490 years. That is an interesting number that keeps appearing.

First time: Abraham to the Exodus.

  • The promise given in Genesis 12:4 75 years
  • And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. Galatians 3:17
  • Ishmael: Genesis 16:16, 21:5 is a time out of 15 years.

So we add the 75 + 430 – 15 = 490 years

Second time: Exodus to the Temple

I Kings 6-8 is 594, I Kings 6:38 is 7 totaling 601 but we need to remove the time outs for being in servitude

  • Mesopotamia 8 years Judges 3:8
  • Moabites 18 years Judges 3:12-14
  • Canaanites 20 years Judges 4:2-3
  • Midianites 7 years Judges 6:1
  • Ammonites 18 years Judges 10:7-8
  • Philistines 40 years Judges 13:1

Totaling 111 years in bondage taken from the 601 equals 490 years.

Third time: Temple to the edict of Artaxerxes

  • I Kings 8:1-66 1005 BC
  • Nehemiah 2:1 minus 445 BC
  • Equals 560 years
  • Minus the Babylonian captivity of 70 years

Equals 490 years

Fourth time: Artaxerxes to the second coming of Jesus

  • Artaxerxes to the 1st advent “the 69 weeks” 69×7=483 years
  • Church interval is unknown and superfluous for this calculation
  • Daniel’s 70th week is 7 years

Again totaling 490 years

Fifth is not a time but how many times God forgives.

Matthew 18

21 ¶  Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22  Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

23  Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

Again 490

I wonder how many times God’s Holy Spirit strives with us during our three score and ten.

Who created Satan and where did he come from?

Lucifer fall

Satan was created as Lucifer the Anointed Cherub. When the Lord completed creation Lucifer looked around and saw that he was the most beautiful thing in heaven or earth and decided that he would exalt his position.

Following are the two key passages that talk about Lucifer’s fall. In Isaiah we see the 5 I will statements. In Ezekiel we learn of his beauty and how that corrupted his wisdom.

Isaiah 14

12  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16  They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17  That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Ezekiel 28

11 ¶  Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

12  Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15  Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

16  By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17  Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18  Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

19  All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

In verse 14 above we learn that there is a holy mountain where God is and that it is surrounded by stones of fire. False religions and motivational speakers encourage people to walk on fire. Now you know who led the way in walking on fire and where he will end up.

Angels and mankind are both given a free will to chose. Man’s time limit for choice is while he is breathing. Once that time is over his eternal destiny is sealed.

Lucifer was the first angel created on the first day of creation. Jesus spent the day explaining that Lucifer would lead the other angels singing on the second day.

Next time you think that you are something special then consider verse 12: “full of wisdom and perfect in beauty” and realize where that led him. We are created dependent and should remember that every day.

The Seventh Day is the Sabbath day of Rest

7th Day

Do you think God got sweaty and tired from a weeklong work of Creation? I don’t think so. Then what did He mean when He said:

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Genesis 2:2

The Lord is our advocate and Satan is our adversary. As such I believe that the Lord was making an official statement like a lawyer makes in a court. “I rest my case.” Creation is His first case. Redemption is His second case. On the cross He said; “it is finished.”

Every human that has ever lived or is alive now or who will ever live is to judge. You decide first did Jesus create everything and everybody or did it just happen by random chance? If you say random chance where did the particles of matter come from? If you believe that Jesus did it then you owe allegiance to Him.

Romans chapter one from 18-32 is the digression of the person that continues to reject the truth of the creator. When you read the passage you see how the person continues on a path downward.

The concept of a 7 day week does not appear anywhere except in scripture. Governments have tried to lengthen it to a 10 day week to increase productivity but accomplished just the opposite. Man needs one day of rest a week.

God designed that one day for us to spend the day with Him. It should be used to:

  • Fellowship with believers
  • Spend a special time in prayer
  • Do a personal Bible study
  • Keep it holy

“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:” Colossians 2:16

Because of the resurrection on Sunday the day of meeting together changed to Sunday. The above verse is the only reference after the book of Acts. Some want to argue that the Sabbath has never been changed. I agree. Saturday is the last day of the week, the seventh day.

“Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.” I Corinthians 16:2

If your church meets on Saturday then you should make another trip on Sunday to give your tithes and offerings.

Many believe that God created but miss out on what is most important; that is that God’s Son is the saviour.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

We know from Genesis 1:26 that all of the God head had a part in creating mankind but now we come to Jesus to obtain eternal life.

Have you concluded that creation requires a designer/creator? Have you received Jesus as saviour?

The Middle of the Tribulation

Mid Trib

Revelation 11-13 focuses on the middle of the Tribulation week of years. Chapter 11 begins with the Temple being measured for construction. I believe that the battle of Gog and Magog has been won and the man of sin has arisen to power as a result of that battle and he signs the 7 year covenant that begins the week of Jacob’s trouble.

We don’t know how long it takes to build the Temple but it is complete by the middle of the week for the man of sin empowered by the fallen angel who is the seed of sin to come and declare that he is god and he is to be worshiped as god.

Another thing that happens right after the signing of the covenant is the two witnesses begin prophesying for 42 months. On the center day of the 70th week these two witnesses complete their work. This is the same day Satan is cast down to the earth. This is the same day that the beast who is part of the unholy trinity comes power and kills the two witnesses and leaves their bodies in the street for all to see for 3 ½ days.

Now Satan has some of the honor he wants. It appears that Satan believes in democracy which is the majority rules. 42 months after sitting in the Temple he will lead Israel’s enemies into the Valley of Megiddo where Jesus will lead the Bride of Christ over them as He speaks a word and all die immediately. Satan is bound for a thousand years and Jesus takes the throne.

Chapters 11 and 13 focus on the middle of the Tribulation although they give events that cover the whole seven years. Chapter 11 covers Temple construction and the Two Witnesses. Chapter 13 covers the other two of the unholy trinity coming on the scene.

Chapter 12 focuses on the center day in heaven, in the air, and on the ground. In heaven the Judgment Seat of Christ is complete and the Accuser will never be allowed back into heaven so the resurrected saints rejoice.

This time is closer than ever. It really doesn’t matter if you die of old age or are raptured tomorrow each of us should live as though it is our last. We should be ready to face our Lord.

Are you ready? Are you ready for the rapture? Are you ready to give an answer to every man that asks for the hope that is in you?

The Tree of Death and the Tree of Life is a daily choice

Sixth Day

You may still eat of the Tree of Life but only by faith by getting into the word of God that produces righteousness and the fruits of the Spirit. Many eat of the Tree of Death daily by learning all the choices available before making a choice of what to do. To eat the Tree of Life tell the Lord you are committed to do His will no matter what it is and that the only reason you won’t do it is because you don’t know it.

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:17

The first two commands given to Adam were things he was to do. Here is the negative side, the one that he was not to do. After studying this in 1981 I began asking pastors where Adam was when Eve partook of the forbidden fruit. It was 20 years before a pastor got the right answer. Look at the verse that answers the question.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6

Most gave the answer that Mr. Goodie Two Shoes was out walking with the Lord. But now we see that he was right there watching like a mute. The Tree of Life would have given them eternal life. Why the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil wasn’t called the Tree of Death is because God wanted us to know what leads to death.

The tree of                                               The tree of

Death                                                         Life

Religion                                                     Relationship

The knowledge of good and evil              the knowledge of Life comes from the word of God

Which tree are you eating from?

Man’s Responsibility a Hedge of Protection to keep the enemy out

Sixth Day

Adam’s second responsibility in the Garden was to protect it with a hedge to keep the enemy out. God is still looking for men to build a hedge and stand in the gap.

Genesis 2:15

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Previously we looked at the first misunderstanding in this verse. Now we will look at the second misunderstanding. To keep it does not mean he would be farming the garden. It meant to protect it. God gave Adam dominion over the earth. Everyone must protect their dominion.

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. John 21:25

From the above verse we know that God did not tell us everything but all that we needed to know. So I conclude that when God told him to keep it He told him how to keep it.

Job knew how to keep his dominion. Satan complained to the Lord that He had a “hedge” about Job. Since everything was “very good” until the end of the 6th day the Lord knowing what was coming warned Adam.

Doesn’t it make good sense to be controlled by the Holy Spirit and pray for God’s direction in everything because He knows what is coming tomorrow?

In verse 15 we see two things Adam was to do.

  1. Be there
    1. The place of provision and pleasure.
    2. God’s enjoyment
    3. Stay there
  2. Protect it
    1. The delegated dominion for dominance.
    2. Man’s responsibility
    3. Stand there

And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. Genesis 2:19

Old Testament names described character. Is it likely that the Lord explained to Adam the nature of each animal as they passed by? King Solomon writes much about nature. They undoubtedly spent the day together but how Adam knew what to name the animals is up for debate. Animals have a nature that displays character qualities that fallen man should learn from.

The nature of the animals changed after the fall but there is still much we can learn about changing our character to conform to the character of Jesus.

Taking responsibility for your dominion will result in gaining more responsibilities and a larger dominion. The opposite is also true. After writing this I was convicted so before posting it I cleaned my desk and work area.

Is your dominion in order? How well protected is your dominion?

The Sixth Day of Creation

Sixth Day

All of the Godhead meaning all three persons is involved in the forming and creation of man.

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

One thing unique to the Hebrew language is plural means 3 or more.

  • Singular means 1
  • Dual means 2
  • Plural means 3 or more

So when God said “Let us” He is referring to all three persons being involved in bringing man into being in His own image. After the man is created he gets to watch God plant a garden around a river flowing out of Eden.

Genesis 2:15

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

Here is a greatly misunderstood verse. God did not design the first man to be a farmer. He was not given a rake, a shovel, and pruning implements. “To dress it” means to adorn it and He is not talking about putting up tinsel and decorations either.

God created man as the “Apple of His Eye.” See Deuteronomy 32:10, Psalm 17:8, and Zechariah 2:8 to confirm. It was not until after the fall that man becomes a farmer needing to earn his living by “the sweat of thy face.”

Today mankind procreates and puts the offspring into a playpen, provides all of the needs, and watches the child grow up. The child grows up looking like those providing for its needs. This was God’s plan; He created a playpen The Garden of Eden, He made all of mans provisions to be had abundantly without any work, and set the boundaries (rules) for man. It is God’s creation so He gets to make the rules.

“To dress it” before the fall simply means to be there inside the boundaries. When a woman plans for a big night out she adorns herself. She wants to look good for her man.

The ultimate goal of Christianity is to be adorned with the presence of God and enjoy fellowship with Him. When anyone listens to the world, the flesh, or the devil and decides to do his own thing that person becomes less adorned and more fashioned like the enemy.

Are you adorned or fashioned? Are you worshiping the God that made you for Him or being fashioned after the world?

Fifth Day of Creation

Fifth Day

On the fifth day of creation God created life in the waters, birds that fly, and great whales then blessed them saying be fruitful, and multiply. Sea and air life has a 24 hour head start on land creatures. Animal life is told to multiply and fill the waters and earth.

Man is told to multiply and replenish the earth. This is not a reference to a race of people before Adam but for people to out multiply animals.

Those who would justify living like an animal look at the DNA structure and note that there is very little difference between man and beast. This is not evidence of evolution but evidence that the same designer created all life.

We note that right after the Lord performs the first wedding He tells them to give Him lots of grandchildren and that He has provided all of their needs. After the fall of mankind into sin it is no longer possible for God to have grandchildren. Jesus explains in John 8:44 that those without salvation are children of the devil.

Galatians 3:26

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Now each person must become a child of God by faith in the Messiah Jesus.

John 3:36

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Everlasting Life is for those that believe

The Wrath of God continues throughout eternity for those who do not receive the free gift of salvation.

Have you told someone recently how to receive everlasting life?
