Two Princes fight The Battle of the Ages

Battle of Ages

Satan claims an involuntary enlistment of everyone since the fall of Adam and Eve. When one receives the gift of salvation they have automatically moved their enlistment from the dark team to the team of light.

Two Princes

  • From the 1st day of Creation                           from Eternity Past
  • Until the last day of Creation                         throughout Eternity Future
  • Prince and Power of the Air                           Messiah the Prince
  • Declared lie in Garden: no consequences       declared war: the Battle of the Ages
  • Self exaltation                                                 exalted by God the Father
  • Timed for his advantage                                 in the fullness of time
  • Satan’s people are living lies                           Messiah’s people are living Truth
  • Confirms the covenant                                    concludes the consummation
  • Destroys the city and the sanctuary                builds the city, is the sanctuary
  • Began the war in the Garden                          ends the war

Daniel 9:26

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

“…there is no discharge in that war …” Ecclesiastes 8:8

One way or another the devil keeps all of his enlistees active. The Lord has many that are AWOL: Absent With Out Leave. The devil’s team works all of the time justifying their lifestyle. Many on the Lord’s team are doing the same thing.

What did Jesus do as God?

Phil 2 5 8

Jesus last act as God was to be conceived then He became the God/man. After that he did everything as a man filled (controlled) by the Holy Spirit. This means that in John 4:4 when scripture reveals for us that “he must needs go through Samaria” He has just learned The Father’s will from the Holy Spirit.

At conception Jesus was the only begotten Son of God who became the Son of man. Now Jesus is “the firstborn among many brethren.” See Romans 8:29

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38

“Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” Isaiah 42:1

1 ¶  The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; Isaiah 61

“And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;” Isaiah 11:2

Before He became a man He created all of creation as the Son of God. Now He claims a new title; Son of man. Only two people in the New Testament call him the Son of man. First is Stephen when he is being stoned to death he sees him standing at the right hand of God. The only other is John in the Revelation.

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” I John 3:2

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” Romans 8:17

When we see Jesus we will be like Him. We will be people controlled by the Holy Spirit. Our rewards are determined while we are here in this life and relate to a rank structure in heaven.

Matthew 5:6 Hungering and Thirsting for Righteousness

Matt 5 6

Righteousness requires a pattern and a purpose to attain.

I remember being in a room with 102 families in 1984 trying to come up with something that pictured hungering and thirsting at the same time.  A man on a desert only pictured thirsting. A child with a swollen belly only pictured hungering. Then one suggested a baby bird that totally dependent on the parents. We could all picture the small bird with a mouth pointing up as the parent returned to the nest. The small one grows to look like the one giving the nourishment.

Choosing meekness by giving up your rights brings revival

Matt 5 5

Meekness rhymes with weakness but is actually power under control. Try to imagine everyone in an orchestra playing their personal favorite song that would sound awful. Now remember when everyone submits to the leader’s selection and plays together in perfect harmony.

Have you ever seen a wild stallion running in the open field? I watched an expert train a wild horse that had never been ridden.  Upon completion in just over an hour he allowed my daughter-in-law who was pregnant with my first grandson to get on and ride away.

A proud and stubborn horse lifts his head which sways the back, weakens ability to carry a load, and slows him down. A meek and humble horse lowers his head which stiffens the back giving the ability to carry a heavy load and run faster.

Holding on to your rights brings rebellion. Choosing meekness by giving up your rights brings revival.

How much of a load can you carry? How fast can you run?

Comfort should be shared with those mourning

Matt 5 4

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5

Joy comes after the mourning and after realizing I was focusing on my will and my way. Then I can comfort others with the comfort I received.

Joy comes when my will conforms to His ways.  Joy is spread when we comfort mourners and give them a reason for the hope we have in Christ.

Do you have an abundant life? Are you sharing it with others?

Meditation with obedience is God’s guarantee for success

Phil 3 13

Meditation is not about memorizing and seeing how many verses you can quote that is for kids. Meditation is prayerfully saying the verse to God and asking Him how He wants to use it in your life to conform you to His image. Meditation is for life change. It is the very essence of transforming your mind.

If you can’t memorize no problem just write out the verse and carry it with you.

Are you obeying this command to meditate?
