Rhema Bible Study and Family Altar

Logos Rhema

Two Greek words are translated into “word.” First is Logos found in 316 passages then Rhema found in 67. Logos refers to the whole Bible while Rhema is a specific word from God. We are to preach the whole counsel of God but live by special illumination.

A woman needs

  • Protection
    • Spiritual hedge
    • Secular home
  • Provision
    • Supplies for nourishment
    • Speech from heaven
  • Presence
    • Sacrifice temporarily for other needs
    • Savor with journal

When a husband provides these things his wife will blossom. Today I am only going to focus on hearing from God and sharing with family.

Adam spent the day with Jesus. Eve was created at the end of the day and left with Adam to explain what he had learned before she got there.

I believe that the husband should rise early in the morning. Every man that has as much as one chapter of scripture written of him it says of him that he rose up early in the morning.

Then he should spend the day walking with the Lord and meditating on the Rhema he received from the Lord that morning. Sometime after work he should get with his wife and children and tell them what he learned that morning. They will begin to look forward to seeing him come home to share what God said to him that morning. In 1984 I began rising at 4:00 am and waking my family at 7 or a little later to give them what I had received.

Since the Rhema is a special illumination from God it will always contain the Wow factor. Sometimes it will require

  • Life change
  • Just an adjustment
  • A prayer
  • A supplication
  • An intercession
  • Gratitude
  • Always the Wow factor

If you are not hearing from headquarters it is time to find out why.

  • Unconfessed sin
  • Incomplete obedience
  • Bitterness

Then since the wife is to be the help meet she could record a “book of remembrance.” I wish my wife had recorded as I am suggesting now but it was I and am now continuing to upgrade what I learned back then.

II Peter 1

12 ¶  Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

13  Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

14  Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

15  Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

From this passage we learn that by remembering we are stirred up. By make it a family project many more insights will be added. The results could be a book or opportunities to share with other families.

How do you have a private time with the Lord? What is your family alter look like?
